BREAKING! Canada makes aggressive plan to accept 1.45 million immigrants in 2023-2025

2022.11.01, Canada released its Immigration Levels Plan for 2023-2025, which carry out a massive immigrant-receiving plan for the coming 3 years.

Due to the strong need for labour, and against the economic depression in post-COVID-19, Canada aims to welcome more new immigrants, these are the goals for the future 3 years:

465,000 in 2023,

485,000 in 2024,

500,000 in 2025.

which are more than any year before in Canada. 3 years total 1.45 millions.

If look into the detail, we will find Canada tends to expand the scale of Economic Class immigrants, such as those programs through Express Entry system and Provincial Nomination Programs (PNPs). This group become the first important target for 2023-2025.

Express Entry plans to receive:

82,880 in 2023,

109,020 in 2024,

114,000 in 2025;

PNP will target:

105,500 in 2023,

110,000 in 2024,

117,500 in 2025.

In the meanwhile, Family Class Sponsorship is the second largest group after economic class. For example, Spouses, Partners and Children program will aim about 80,000 new immigrants; Parents and Grandparents Program will keep rising from 28,500 in 2023 to 34,000 in 2024, and 36,000 in 2025.

Immigration Levels Plan, Refugee and Humanitarian Class is the only category will be decreased. For example, the target number of immigrant in humanitarian class will drop from 16,000 in 2023 to 8,000 in 2025.

Younger, Skilled people needed

By this 3-year plan, Canada population will be increased approximately 4%. Behind this plan, we can see a trend that young, skilled worker is the most welcome type of immigrant, as well as their spouse, partner, and children. Obviously, this type of immigrant can build Canada population younger.

Labour shortage

Moreover, Canadian labour market is in shortage for skilled, technical labours. Data on August2022 reveals that there are 958,500 occupations in-demand to fulfill, which is almost 1 million jobs waiting labours. Especially in some regions, plenty of senior workers start to be retired. And since COVID-19, hospital and other healthcare institutes face huge need of medical worker, from physicians to nurses and patient service associates.
