More people can immigrate Canada by PNPs

In 2023, federal government of Canada increase the allocations to PNO programs. We will see Canada’s Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) play a more important role to accept immigrants.

The IRCC plans to increase the total number of immigrants through the PNP from 105,500 this year to to 117,500 in 2025. In the future 3 years, people will expect more and more allocations apply on each province’s PNP.

Ontario and the federal government recently announced that the Ontario PNP allocation will increase to 18,000 per year by 2025.

Several other provinces have also announced their future PNP allocations. Alberta's PNP will increase to 10,849 in 2025, and Saskatchewan will rise to 8,500 by then. Manitoba's allocation is increased to 9,500 this year. The Yukon Territory announced that they have secured 430 PNP for 2023, up from 300 last year.

Until now of this year, we can see the federal Express Entry system had being not too active to invite candidates in federal programs for 2 months. It just restarted to invite in two weeks ago. However, PNPs keep inviting people in a very steadily pattern during this period. It shows PNP is completely become a competitive way along with the federal’s Express Entry for economic class candidates.

There is a significant change also happening recently, which would make PNP might fit more candidates. Ontario and Alberta is negotiating with federal government to grant more autonomy to ultimate their PNP programs in order to find who better fit the provincial economic needs.
